Chapter One

About Sam.

Sam Ferlo portrait
Portrait · New York

Second generation circus performer.

My father was a clown. My mother, an aerialist. Performance wasn’t something I discovered. It was simply how life worked.

That foundation eventually carried me around the world, performing with productions including Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and Blanc de Blanc in Australia.

Today I’m continuing to deepen my craft through the William Esper Studio’s Meisner conservatory in New York, exploring truthful acting while carrying with me everything the circus taught me. Precision, playfulness, vulnerability, and presence.

I’m drawn to characters who are funny because they’re hurting, hopeful because they’ve failed, and deeply human because they’re imperfect.

(Every family has traditions. Mine involved stilts.)

is to fall down first.
